Vajravidarana - Yongle Bronze
Antique early Ming dynasty Sino-Tibetan bronze image of Vajravidarana with Yongle (1403-1425 AD) mark and of the period. Seated on a double lotus throne in and holding a bell in her lowered left hand and a crossed vajra in her right and held close to her heart. Her face is placid with a distinct third eye. Her mouth is slightly downturned and wrathful with distinct bared teeth. She is the Tibetan form of the Indian goddess, Sita. Vajravidarana is a purification diety.
