Chinese Qing Dynasty Carved Bamboo Brushpot
Antique Chinese, Qing dynasty carved bamboo brushpot. The naturalistic shape imitating a pine stump is carved in high relief with multiple figures in a landscape scene emulating "The Elegant Gathering at the Orchid Pavilion" (Lan Ting Ya Ji Tu.)
The vivid and intricate carving is worked in openwork and high relief and is executed in the round.
