Max Hutchinson invited Ju Ming to another artist residency in 1983 and this time the renowned sculptor turned his attention to ceramics.

These beautiful ceramic works again created at a space in New York provided by Hutchinson mark an important early phase of Ju Ming’s career when the artist experimented with various medium and forms.

Plum Blossoms is proud to have in its collection two beautiful worked and glazed robed ancient Chinese court officials’ ceramic sculptures. All of the ceramic sculptures are signed by Ju Ming and dated 1983. Ju Ming created each of these early ceramic works with his own hands and some traces of the artist’s fingerprints are visible on the surface of the ceramic works.

The sculptures with their prototypical aspect and great provenance will be prominent additions to any prestigious collection.
