Following his one-man show at the Ayala Museum, Manila in 2007, Plum Blossoms Gallery is pleased to present a selection of works by the internationally acclaimed artist Mark Lewis Higgins. Born in the Philippines in 1963 to an Irish-American father and a Chinese-Filipino mother, Higgins’ highly intricate mixed-media works reflect the complex ‘hybridity’ of his heritage. As the Higgins himself suggests, his recent Diaspora series takes the idea of “exploring origins and is a celebration of incredible voyages and what is left behind and what stories are left there to suggest new narratives upon which we can build.”
